This series represents a transition from figurative imagery to abstract forms, marking a pivotal development in Vunderink's visual language. Moving from symbolic representations to increasingly abstract shapes and planes of solid colour, the works reimagine space and time through dematerialised forms. Vunderink animates the series with organic motifs and abstract geometric shapes inspired by the seasons, weather, and natural phenomena that captivated him. Linear diagonals evolve into dynamic configurations, carefully balancing contrasting colours. This interplay between form and colour becomes a central focus, refining the compositions until they dissolve into pure abstraction. The abstract forms serve as a visual metaphor for the delicate interconnectedness of nature's laws and their inherent beauty. Through this evolution, Vunderink creates a poetic dialogue between the natural world and its representation, capturing both its order and its fragility.
